It took a while for me to get here,

For me to fall in love with my life.

It took a divorce,

It took the loss of a meaningful relationship,

It took friends going absent,

It took the loss of a child,

It took 12,775 sunrises; I am 32 years old,

It took several close calls,

It took me trying on identities that did not belong to me,

Bad men,

Late nights,

Good times,

Wine,

The cancer diagnosis of my mother,

A new child,

I am here and so in love.
